I'm just getting back into boat fishing after a long time. I would like a fish-finder/GPS combo like the Lowrance Elite 5 DSI, which I saw in another post, but like with most things, there are about a million of them around! Any advice so I can avoid hours (or days) of research on what and where to buy? Many thanks!

Larry

I just bought the elite 4 dsi from lowrance. Haven't had a chance to get it mounted yet but hope to in the next week. The 4 was a little more within my budget. Bought it from cabelas. Always great service from them. Do you have a PA 14 or the PA 12 with the lowrance ready mounting system?

I recently bought a Humminbird 597ci DI combo. Has down imaging, traditional sonar, 5" screen and integrated GPS. Works very well.

Managed to get a good deal on it at $450.
