Post subject:  PA 12 storage on mattress?

Hey so stoked right now picked up my PA12 in ivory dune today and am eager to take it out tomorrow for it's maiden voyage. Just got home and unloaded it and was wondering how to store this in the garage. Well trying to figure this out I noticed that I have an old mattress sitting around and decided to give it a try. Just wondering if this is safe? And will it damage the hull?

No, it won't damage the hull. And it'll sleep well.

Should I be fine rightside up or should I put it upside down?

Wow, that thing's gonna sleep like a baby! Lol  I too was worried about mine when I first got her. Now she sleeps outside on a trailer with 3" PVC pipe running vertically down her scupper lines. Picking up a new 2011 AI to accompany her in bed although sleeping on the top bunk above her on his own 2" PVC pipe...

You should make it clean up its room though.

At least you wife didn't tell you that you needed to move your mattress out in the garage after spending that much money on a little plastic kayak

I just got my PA14 this week and not sure of the best way to store it. Actually, I only have one way due to lack of space. I currently have it on its side/edge leaned against the wall. Is this okay?

I have had PA's (three of them) in the past 3+ years. I was carrying and storing them on large pool noodles .

However, I found this caused some "oil canning" on the bottom, over time. My newest PA now sit on a cushion made from two exercise mats.

So far no "oil canning"..............I transport and store my PA on my trailer.

Hobie would recommend putting it upside down. It's unlikely that you'll have a problem with it like that, but if you're able to turn it upside down, that's going to be the best.

Trailex single trailer and the hobie craddles make it sooo easy to transport. Well worth the money
