Just purchased and waiting for my Wildcat Lighting Deluxe Kayak Fishing Kit to arrive. What is the best and easiest way to power the lights? I've seen these lights hooked to deer feeder batteries and a few AA Batteries. What would you recommend?

I would think that the AA packs would work for this but on the ACK website it shows a Wildcat 12v gel battery just like I power my depth sounder with as an accessory for the lighting kit.

The lights look great and it seems like a cool accessory to have but I don't think I could make them last. I would think they'd be crushed and broken fairly quickly from fishing in timber, against pylons, and other hazards that I run into on a regular basis. The first time I tried to tie up to a dock I would think they would be crushed.
