I am making a trip to Sand Hollow lake later this month and want to lock my PA 14 to the trailer. Is running a chain or cable through the mirage drive the best way to keep it from being stolen?

Yes. It s a sensible way to lock it up

Unless you can keep it inside

They could cut the chain, if you want remove the seat as well, replacing or purchasing the mirage drive and seat probably wouldn't be worth their time.

If they want it, they will take it :!: However, if you can slow them down, that may be the deciding factor for them to move on to an easier target.

I travel to tournaments/trips all the time. I simple purchased a good locking cable that I run through the scupper/mirage holes and secure to the trailer.

Haven't purchased one yet, but understand they are making cable's with sirens/flashing lights. Do a search on-line.

I lock the rear handle to the support crossbar on the rear of the truck. Then I lock through the seat and did lock through the cart inserted from the top too. Now that cart is going to be long gone so I will lock the new trailer stuff down.

I run a cable thru the mirage drive opening, around/thru the seat and lock to the trailer.

My grandpa always said, "locks are meant to keep the honest people out."

If they want it, they'll find a way to get. I'll just do my best to make as difficult for them.

And a tip...I use a high quality combination lock, so I don't have to worry about losing the key during a trip or tournament.

Cheers
Drew
