Post subject:  Newbie Preference Question

As a newbie who hopes to have his maiden voyage of his PA 12 tomorrow I have a preference question.

Do you use the stock paddle and attache it to the side bar?

Do you have it set up as a kayak (double blades) or canoe (single blade with handle) paddle?

I can see the advantages of both. I guess it may depend on the water and weather conditions. Tomorrow should be a calm day (with rain) on a lake.

I do use the stock connection to attach it to the bar...not a good patent. I have it as a single paddle, but never really use it since I use the mirage drive or my trolling motor.

I personally use the Accent Transformer, set up like a SUP paddle.
With our fishing style, I use my paddle constantly I do a lot of standing and the long paddle keeps me moving while looking for fish in the shallows.

Cheers
Drew

When I'm fishing the salt here in NE Florida I use it put together as a traditional kayak paddle. I do a lot of standing while fishing and use the length of the paddle to push pole along while spotting and stalking redfish. When I bass fish I usually have it set up as a "canoe" paddle with the "T" handle since I rarely pole the boat while bass fishing.
