Hello all... So my trailer is so close to being finished I'm thinking about my first run in our new PA's. this is my wife and I's first experience so I am trying to be prepared. We are in northern Wisconsin so our lake temps are only in the 40's and we would like to keep warm. What footwear do you or would you wear in this situation? Rubber boots, waders, chance jumping in the yak from a wobbly dock? Once weather warms up we will just walk in an jump in, but that might be awhile with the weather we are having. I appreciate your help and the invaluable resource this forum provides us newbies :D .

Rob

P.S. Dry paddle suits will be in our future for safety once we get serious about cold water fishing.

If you are launching from shallow water, I'd probably go with a pair of knee high rubber boots that you could take off and replace with something more comfortable when you got on the water. Sort of depends on your launch site I'd say. :D

I fish in Colo most of the winter and also fished L Michigan last November. I had no problem wearing hiking boots in my PA...especially when hitting the water from a dock or boat launch with dock. Even without a dock I have no problem pushing off and hopping into my PA from dry land without getting my feet wet...or getting back to shore and hopping on dry land without getting wet.
