What is a good lube to use on the o-ring of the rear hatch on my PA-12 My hatch is difficult to open or close. I've tried spray on Teflon and other lubes with lousy results.

Silicone grease works best for me.....dielectric silicone grease works too.....just more money.
It does not dry out and does not attack the seal.

Odds are the plastic (kayak) is moving slightly with heat and cooling. Also there is a little give in the hull when opening and closing the hatch. That is more the cause of the binding than the seal.

Silicone!

Petroleum lubes will damage the O-Ring causing it to swell. That would make opening and closing harder.
