Hi guys,

I just bought a 2017 PA12 and am very happy to join the family. I have made a wood stand to store the PA12 in the garage. Since I am only supporting the center part of the boat(about 2 ft long), I am worrying if the boat will bend under it own weight. Please let me know if you have any related knowledge.

Thanks,

Welcome to the family.
And Yipes - That is definitely not a good way to store it! Ideally you should have the weight distributed across as much of the hull area as possible in order to avoid deforming the plastic. Hobie recommends cradles or flipping over to rest on the rails. A lot of us use 3-4" diameter PVC bunks that fit along the longitudinal recesses in the hull, constructed to encourage flexing / bending of the PVC. Better to have the rack bending to conform to the hull than the hull bending to conform to the rack, as your stand will cause. MANY posts on here about racks for storage and transportation - use the Search tool.
Good luck.
