I saw this on you tube today and thought this was a good example of the 'steering issue' some folks have had. I believe this is a new user, at least launching in waves, and notice they don't get the steering under control until the possible 2nd pass. On the 1st pass they completely circle around, luckily before the next set would possibly hit. They time it beautifully, however, and recover in time for the 2nd. Necessity is after-all the mother of invention, and in this case maybe invention of technique.

This one seemed similar in that it took a few to get the hang of it. At 1st I thought they were going to continue in a path right in the way of the boat lining up for the ramp, but then they seemed to 'get it' once they laid off the darn paddle; and off they went out of the way and into the wild blue yonder in little under a few moments of being on the water for what seemed like the 1st time....

Love these Hobie's

ps - no disrepsect meant for those in the video's. I think they were remarkable in how they adapted.

It's apparent to me that the people in the video don't have any idea what they are doing!

I was waiting for the worst but looks like his beach launch went okay. I imagine that he got anxious about the breaking waves and forgot to drop the rudder.
