Time to pack up the kayak :-(

It's been a great summer getting out on the water, great decision to purchase my Pro Angler! Sad that I doubt I'll get out on it again, any good weather from here on should probably be spent winterizing it. I have to give it a good wash but is there anything else I should be thinking of? I'm thinking there isn't too much to do...

Any place water could get trapped, expand and damage it? Should I bother trying to tee pee it so snow will not sit on it, could it hurt it any if I don't? Sounds like the weight + heat's what can damage it... I have the protectant 303 I figure I'll apply, though not sure what it'll do. Also, try to wrap it up tight or leave it breathe? Dog forbid, anybody get mice move into theirs??? My covered up BBQ had that happened... I really don't want that to happen to my kayak!

Any thought would be appreciated!

Make sure you treat the fuel with Stabil, fog the intake/carb, drain water out of the head and water pump and then tightly cover it to keep mice out of the cowling...

Sorry YY....the devil made me do it!
I think you got it covered......If stored outdoors, I would tarp it and elevate/store upside down on saw horses or something like that...then no water can accumulate to cause a freeze expansion crack.
There really is no way mice can get inside the hull......would only be on the tarp surface if they got inside it.
I would apply 303 "just because" it helps to keep the plastic supple and restores the color of the hull.

Assuming you will keep the Mirage drive indoors and lube/WD40 the chain and possibly re-grease the shaft so its ready for next spring.

Another thing to consider since the PA is being stored outside in snowy conditions, would be to remove the battery to keep it from freezing.
I would also remove your fish finder as I know my Humminbird 768 combo is only rated down to -4F(-20C).....to keep from damaging the components and display.
Lastly is remove the seat, tackle boxes and any food stuffs that might be there for snacking while fishing on the water.

Last winter, I left a few rods in mine for convenience but took out everything else: the tackle boxes, battery, seat, fishfinder, and the front and rear bins. I covered it with a boat cover and hoisted it up under my deck rafters with a Harken hoist. That part of the deck is covered and doesn't get rain or snow. It was perfect in the Spring. All I did to ready it again was give it another coat of 303.
