Anybody using or used a Thule Hullavator at all for their PA12 ?
I realise they are rated for 75lb and the PA weighs 98lb.
Also max width is listed at 33.5" vs PA 36"
Would love to hear opinions as I'm really struggling with rooftop loading due to shoulder rotacuff problems :(
I am currently using the Thule "Slide" bar arrangement but need to find a better and easier system.
Cheers, Rod

In my mind the only option for the PA is a trailer. It can be done for little money and is light enough to haul with just about any vehicle. Lesser kayaks, rooftop is fine but I would not attempt that with a PA - EVER! With a trailer you don't have to empty the kayak either, saves time in addition to no effort load/launch.

Thanks Bruce. Yes a trailer would be best option, however I'm a bit tight with storage for an additional trailer (have a small dinghy on a trailer as well), hence the query.
Bugger of a situation...
Cheers,
Rod

I had the Hullivator in a past life, Dont believe it will even open wide enough for the PA 12

Mate you could sell the dinghy and trailer or get a side loader, I've got a side loader for my Toyota Landcruiser works great when I need to tow the caravan.

Agree that the weight and width of the PA being used on a Hullivator is outside the limits.

If it helps any, I use a Thule 887XT Slipstream with the longer 50" bars to carry my PA14 on the roof of a CR-V when I'm going to a launch site that do not allow trailers. The PA12 might fit without the longer bar upgrade.
