Micro Power Pole Battery

Getting ready to install the Micro Power Pole on my PA. I am trying to figure out exactly what I need to do about a battery. In addition to the Micro, I will also be running a FF/GPS (non-color). My questions is.... should I install a separate battery for each of these units or will one battery be sufficent to run both for the typical 6-8 hour trip?

I am using a 12V7A battery currently. Appreciate your comments.

Nice to finally put a face to a forum handle at the Jax Classic this past weekend. That's a great question about the amperage draw for using both units. Wish I could help. Post some pictures when you get it installed.

Same situation, decided to go this way-

Existing 12v7ah battery for the Lowrance Mark-4 (located in hull behind "tackle station" in waterproof case), will be dedicated to FF/GPS only.

Utilizing the Hobie battery holder (which will be located in the rear deck hatch), I'll be adding a generic 12v9ah gel battery to power the Micro Anchor.

Reasoning- I have to strip this boat in July, and having the two power set-ups seperate will make that chore easier.

Also, I think the chance of some type of "interference" with the FF operation would be lessened by keeping the two units seperate.....but I could be way off base on that thought.

Any interference would most probably occur when running both units at the same time. Doubt you would be using the FF if you are anchoring the Micro in 2-3 feet of water
