Just took my pa12 fishing for the first time. What a great kayak . My molded in rod holders filled with water. . Is there a way to drain them without turning the kayak upside down ?

Stuff a rag in them. The rag will soak up the water in a few minutes and can be withdrawn.

Hope you are not using them as rod holders in saltwater. Quick way to ruin your rods. Buy the Hobie rod tube holder that fits down into the molded forms.

Or make your own with pvc. Works great unless the yak turns over. Good luck

The reel will be sitting very close to the water with the built in rod holders. Salt water splashing on the reels will soak into the inter workings of the reel. Where as if elevated higher above the water line there will be less soaking to the reels. That is why I use PVC to extend the height of the reels while fishing.

I made these to get my rods up. It is easy to use a towel to get the water out when washing, etc.

After every outing I'm my PAs I wash them inside and out. Saltwater stains them pretty easy. After I was them I use my shop vac to suck out all excess water. If I leave the water the Skeeters here on the gulf will make babies quick. Lol. So a shop vac is how I get it cleaned.
