I took my un-rigged PA out today to my honey holes. I've never even been in one so i wanted to get an idea of what it is like. I am bumping 300lbs and it is far more stable than i thought it would be. The mirage drive is very impressive and i even stood up in it although i would have liked it much better fully rigged with my h-bar and Ultralight 403 i did had fun.
Also took a rod and some tackle with me and yea...i killed it! 8)

It was a pretty good experience for what it was. No anchors, no fishfinder, no rod holders, no nothing. Caught about 40 or so crappie but as you can see only got to keep 18 as most were throwbacks. Cant wait until i have time to get this fishing. machine rigged out! I'm going to slaughter them next year!

Its my first one. I feel i made the right choice for as big as i am. Its a little cramped compared to my Tracker 170 but its the only way i can get to my holes now. They closed my ramp down.
Plan on doing some saltwater fishing with the yak. Never put any of my boats in salt even though i live 10 minutes from the bay so it will open that window up for me as well. Should be fun !

Does anyone know what the weight capacity is on the PA 14 seat? I test drove one and it was the store's model. It looked like parts of the fabric on seat were slightly ripping, most likely from a rider much bigger than me.

Also, what is the consensus on the H bar? Is it worthwhile?

The seat has a max capacity of 350 pounds and has this limit stenciled/marked on the aft bottom frame.
There has been reported a small number of seats with fabric tearing/failure and Hobie takes care of it under warranty.

I can't speak about the H-bar as I own a 2013 PS-14 and the only thing I attach to the side rail is my water bottle receiver.
