Where did you get the Bimini top? That's a nice touch.

Bought the smallest one i could find on ebay (54in W x 6ft L) and cut the crossbars down.

Still deciding if i'll re stitch it to take out the slack on the sides. For the mounting i used the hobie h-bar mounts. All in all i have about 140 in it. Works well but its a little awkward to collapse on the water. Its pretty much on or off little too big to leave down and just put up when you need it.

Good looking build! My wife and I just came back from a demo day and she loved the PA17. My question is this, do you find peddling the 17t solo is efficient or do you tire quickly? I did peddle it in the solo position during the demo, but not sure how it would be on a longer haul.

We're debating wether we want to add the PA14 to our other kayak or sell the current one we have and switch up to the 17t.

Not going to lie I wish I had a PA12 too for solo times but really only for launch and recovery, I hate little trailers! On the water the 17 is fine (lakes and ponds I am in NE) solo. I do find when I go full sprints solo (4-5) water comes in the front mirage drive well. I solo about 75% of the time. Well it's me and my 4 year old (she doesn't help pedal) so I count that solo. Sometimes I used the solo position sometimes I used the rear position. It's pretty much about as clunky as my outfitter was solo just tons more room!

Still miss the sailing aspect so I think we are going to add a TI to our fleet once I find a nice local used 13/14 model that they don't want 6k for!

Thanks for getting back with me! Do you feel it's much slower than the 14 solo? Do you have difficulty maintaing position or getting blown around by wind?

For now it will just hold the car topper. But as soon as our old house sells it will be used to house an AI..... If i find a good deal on a used one.
