I'm curious how that location changes much of anything?

The forward grommet, without a tube, causes a hard wear on the grommet that can cut it. The line is routed up and over...through the softer grommet. The routing from the side using a guide tube reduces that load and wears better.

Chafing of the scupper or board is a non-issue. This was tested with over 5,000 cycles several times over.

If your boat doesn't show wear on the grommet, don't worry about it.

That is an odd number. "I" should be September and should be a 2015 model if built in September 2014.. Only 2015 boats should have a skeg I think.

Picture?

Matt, my yak a PA12 2015 was used in the world champions in the netherlands in OKTOBER 2014 !??
These yaks were customized bij hobie europe in stellendam, so these yaks had to be produced long before october. It's cold wet and dark out side but i am quit sure my srn. ends with 415. But i will check tomorrow.

Look under the drum cover... That is the only way to tell if you need to change the line routing.

Some 2015 boats were made prior to a change that caused this problem.

If showing I414.... should be I415, so a mistake here I guess.

That is an odd one. All shows 2015 features and the routing issue (didn't pick up that detail earlier), so you should file a claim for the kit for sure.

Anyone know if this is an issue with the 17t as well, or is this only the 12 and 14?

Does anyone know when the repair kits will be shipped. I want to pick up my New PA 14 but the dealer wants to fix it before I take it.

It will take some time to fill the pipeline - I wouldn't worry at all about using a kayak the way it is - this is something you can easily install yourself down the road a bit.

Reached out to my dealer today. Might as well get the process moving.

Whats the status of the kit? I've already submitted my paperwork with ACK in Houston and they mentioned it has not arrived yet.

We have been shipping the tubes as soon as we get them - should be able to catch up on order by this week or next I'm told. You will want to follow-up with Austin kayak directly. I can't comment on whether or not a specific dealer has them on order.
