I had a business trip, followed by foul weather. Then I had a 12 day Family trip to the top of a mountain in Colorado.
I haven't been on my Hobie PA fishing in well over a month. And the weather outside is...frightful...
I'm having withdrawal symptoms. I wake myself from sleep to find my legs pushing up and down on a pedal drive that isn't there, my arms making jerky casting motions with a phantom rod. I sit around my office/living room looking at spots I'd cast to if this were all under water. I tied a hookless plug on a rod and cast it over the banister for the cats to grab. Being the horrible animals they are, neither will touch it.
I've got the fishing shakes, man.
I miss the wind in my face and the steady motion of the river beneath me. I need relief.
Is there a group counseling session for Hobie fishermen? If so, sign me up. This is getting bad.
Happy New Year, all.
