I too have a broken spring on a Click N Go, and purchased a replacement spring today. I removed just the spring assembly cover, not the entire Click N Go from the kayak, and have been able to remove the broken spring pieces. However, I am having some difficulty creating the correct "bends" to secure the two spring ends. What is the best way to accomplish the first bend, toward the inner side of the assembly? It looks like I might have an easier time with the second bend, more space there to use a tool. Anyone have any suggestions? I tried "pre-bending" the end before assembly and managed to snap the end off spring # 1. Good thing I bought two! But I don't want to sheepishly go back to dealer for spring # 3.

I had to buy a set of ball headed Allen wrenches, but they allowed me to take the whole click and go off. In fact, on my model, I am pretty sure I had to remove the whole assembly to get the cover off, because it (the cover) was screwed in from the bottom. I am still using the original hacked spring. If it fails, I will replace it, but it has been going strong since May. Wondering if they had a bad batch of springs for it to shear so easily on you and on my new PA. My Hobie was only a couple months old when it failed.
