Will the V2 Mirage Drive still be available?

Post subject:  Will the V2 Mirage Drive still be available?
With the roll out of the 180 drive will the V2 be an option or is it going completely away?

I presume parts will be available for some time.

GT parts and drives are available. GT=Glide Technology and is the roller bearing version. "V2" is a bit of a misnomer as it was several different upgrades at different times. The latest pre-180 is called GT.

I guess the question is, if you are buying a new yak can you opt for non 180 version with current model hull, to save some coin, or are all models coming out with 180 option only as standard from Hobie. My impression is the later,and if you wanted otherwise you would have to arrange a special trade off deal with the dealer if they are willing to do so.

Correct. I would imagine that a dealer would be willing seeing as they can easily sell the 180 drive.

Thanks for the info. You are correct in assuming I meant the GT. I just do not need or use the reverse as much as everyone says. I had a native propel drive. It had reverse. I hardly ever used it. I had more trouble with pulling the drive when I fished inshore as I hit oyster bars. Notice they always show their propel in deep water and say it can even go in reverse. Big deal. They will never appproach the very satisfied and fruitful fishing experiences I have had on my various hobies.
