i currently have a 2017 vibe seaghost 130. 13ft long, 33 inches wide and around 75 pounds. I lay a blanket on the trunk, lift the nose of the kayak up onto the trunk and then grab the kayak from the rear and slide it up onto the roof rack. im going to look at a 2015 PA 14 on friday. my roof rack is rated for 130lbs. the PA 14 is 120lbs. im wondering if anyone has transported one on top of a small car and how secure it would be. i would attach a picture of my roof rack but i dont know how to.

If it were me, I would not load the PA-14 on top of a Camry due to the "heft of the beast"

Aside from the overall weight, its also too easy to damage your car if it slips while placing it on the roof rack.....and the roof rack would really be at the max rated load.

The PA-14 is 38" wide and has "raised rails" to contend with if roof topping.........a trailer is really a much better option and you can leave your seat, any gear/equipment mounted or installed inside the PA.

My 2013 PA-14 is close to 175 pounds loaded with all of my things.....includes 4# and 6# down rigger balls, 2 SLA batteries, anchor ,tackle, etc, etc, etc. I carry my PA on a Hobie Trailex Trailer.
