Was out the other day on my new 2018 PA 12 and when I popped the mirage drive out at the launch I I discovered one of the fins had snapped at the point when the black plastic part of the fin beneath the pin meets the top of the fin. Only the 3 rd tip out, so I bummed out. Was wondering if this would be covered under any Hobie warranty. It wasn’t due to any major stress. I was just out cruising with my 3 year old son. Has anyone else had problems with these fins? I have a 2016 outback and have never had a problem with those turbo fins and they have taken some hits. Thanks.

Ask your dealer to file a claim. We should be able to cover that.

Great, thank you Matt. I contacted ACK today and hope I can get a new fin soon. Love the new yak and look forward to getting back on the water

The zip ties held up, another reason to keep them in the yak.

Just a follow up. Went thru ACK, they filed a claim. Received a replacement fin from Hobie, no cost. Thank you.
