While I was surfing for installation info I came across an article where someone added a 1" block under the landing gear mount for extra support. (Helps to prevent hull cracking). Now I can not find the article and wanted to get he details. Has anyone done a setup like this?

Where would one add this 1" block? You can't lift the knuckle as you'd not fit under the H Rail.

I may be wrong but the installation kit for the PA14 comes with a thin spacer to allow the unaltered boonedox to fit under the H-rail. Didn't look like there would be any room for anything other than the factory items.

Recently installed Boonedox on a 2017 PA 14, yellow. I ordered the kit for the Camo version because it comes with the 9" backing plate. The Camo versions may have been thinner or weaker hod some reports of cracking causing Boonedox to add more support. The non-camo version uses a 6" long backing plate. I figured the more support the better. The Boonedox aluminum casting fits tight under the H-rail so it offers slightly more support through the H-rail. So far, I'm happy with it.
