I just put a Micro Power Pole on my 2016 PA-14. The Hobie mount don't fit the the contour very well. It says remove the rudder cable cover plate and bolt down the power pole plate but it leaves gaps on the sides. Has anybody ran into this?

That's normal. It does not sit flush against the top of the hull. No worries.
