I’m finally going to purchase a Micro Power Pole for my Pa14 , but I see now they have an Ultra Lite spike as well as the HD one .
I fish mostly smaller reservoirs but in sometimes extremely windy conditions . I know they say the Ultra lite is rated up to 1500 pounds but is the only advantage the weight itself? I worry about durability issues with a lighter spike.
Also what about the battery pack, I’ve seen good and bad reviews. Thanks

I use the Power-Pole Micro on my PA14 and my Compass. Wished I had purchased one sooner. I have the original spike and not the newer lighter one. I have held the lighter one and it seems pretty durable. I was reading somewhere that Power-Pole has a lifetime warranty on the spikes. If that's true it should answer your durability concern.

I have heard nothing but praise regarding the company and the way they stand behind their products even after the warranty has expired. I dealt with them regarding the external battery pack as mine didn't seem to want to hold a full charge. Sent me a new one with a return shipping label for the old one. I only have the one setup, but since I have the battery pack, I swap it between the PA14 and the Compass depending on which one I am using. I will eventually get a second unit. Had mine about 3 years now and would not fish without it.
