Hello. Fresh back from a great saltwater fishing trip in the Louisiana marsh in my 2016 Hobie PA12. While fishing, I raised the rudder (or thought I did). When I went to lower the rudder, I pulled the T-Handle clearing the cleats and nothing happened, the line wasn't pulled into the hull like it normally does when the rudder is lowered. I reached back and felt the rudder, and it was still in the down position. It steered fine, no problems with the steering mechanism (so the good news is I was able to continue fishing safely).
Now that I am back at the house, I searched this website but couldn't find a similar issue. Did some more research using this forum and the hobie parts catalogue, and learned that there is a "cheek block" inside the hull forward of the T handle assembly. Used my cell phone to video the inside of the hull to investigate, and I am able to see the cheek block hanging by the pull ropes and no longer attached to the hull.
I can't find a detailed diagram anywhere......where does it attache, and how to I reassemble it? What parts do I need? A lock nut or something like that?
Any help and/or advice is greatly appreciated
