I plan on purchasing a PA17T next spring. I have an 8x4 utility trailer I can convert to carry the kayak for most trips. One specific place I fish currently has a small beach which they allow kayaks to launch from but do not allow trailer parking there at the park. I’m also in the market of upgrading my vehicle to a new Silverado. My question is how difficult would it be to transport a PA17T in the bed of a Silverado with a 4’ bed extender? Is it possible to do it with one of the Hobie cradles attatched to the extender to support the weight of the kayak? I’m a rather large person at 6’7” and 260lbs and have confidence I can move if from the bed to a cart and back by myself.

That’s a tough question. I own a PA 14 and it was a challenge to haul it in the bed of my Dodge 2500. It has the medium size bed. You might be able to pull it off. The 17 is huge.
