I have a hobie pa14 with an adventure island ama attachment that I'm only going use when I want to run an outboard motor. Since a kayak only need to be and show vessel registration when motorized in Florida I was thinking of placing the registration numbers on the ama instead of the hobie hull. Would this be a legal option?

Florida law requires the registration numbers on both sides of “the bow”. Technically, the ama is not the bow on a proa and the inboard decal will likely be obstructed by the main hull. Would anybody notice and cite or warn you? Probably not unless you were already breaking some other law or acting dangerously. But why not just put them on the bow?

I found this image on the web where a PA registration numbers are on sides of the bow hatch. Would this meet the state (FL) criteria?

I was thinking of doing a decal wrap on the bow cover so if this would work I could just incorporate the numbers into the design which would also give a better base for the registration decal to stick to as well... Thoughts on this... ?
