I am hoping for some advice on supporting a PA12 on top of my SUV. Using a trailer is not possible due to the slope my driveway and lack of a place to stow it. I have car topped lighter 12' kayaks using the THULE 883 Glide Set. I know the weight ratings on those are 85lbs but I am wondering if it would be better to flip them pointing out under the hull to provide more support than just resting on the crossbars. I plan on having bow and stern tie downs as well as strapping it down to the bars. I do want to transport it right side up resting on the crossbars.

At this point I am trying to decide if I am going to go up the back of the SUV or via the Rhino Rack Side Loader.

I can't wait to get the PA and start to install my goodies, but the trip home from the dealer with this heavier boat has me nervous.
