Run away from Island Hopper. They are scammers. I purchased a $335 mount that doesn’t work. I returned it and they refunded me 1 penny. Had to file a dispute with my credit card company. |

I have had the island hopper for a year or more now. Mounted on a Pelican catch 120. It has been excellent! I have also found the support to be exceptional. The install instructions are useless but the mount is so simple to install you don’t need one. I would recommend Island Hopper for its ease of control and simplicity. I did find that the motor (I had a 41 lb thrust) draws a good amount of amperage. I used a 35 ah Aagm and found I would drain very quickly at full power but the Pelican is heavy. I was able to troll -pretty mich 8 plus hours though. At $750 or so, including mount, motor and battery it is a great buy for the money. I have a Bixpy J-1 for my 2020 PA 14 and it is amazing. The range I can cover, and barely use the battery is amazing. Good luck |
