Just received my Pro Angler, I'm having an issue with the seat not fully resting into the high position mount, but it will go in the low position. Is this the correct seat? Only other thing I could think of is that the strap holding onto the high mount bar is too short.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Ah I figured it out. Hobie is Using XT seats which were made for the 17foot, and they are trying to modify them into ST seats in house by just bending the frame out of whack and not telling their representatives. Mine wasn't bent enough, which is why my seat wouldn't rest in the high position mount. Makes sense as the logo on the seat is XT but the tag they've attached is ST

Hopefully you guys are placing each seat into a pro angler to assure you've made the correct bend??? You'd know right away whether the fabrication you made is within tolerance because it would actually fit.

Thanks for helping me sort through this.

My understanding is to keep boats shipping and since we have materials shortages on the standard seats, yes they are shipping modified XT seats in the PA's. Some slight tweaking needs to be done and apparently not quite right or the spring back a little in shipping.

I can confirm exactly what you've described jhorgash. I have a brand new PA14 360 and noticed the seat didnt quite sit perfectly in the cradle at the elevated position. It sort of rests on the top of the V-Bracket rather than nested in it. I haven't noticed that it impacts the use, just that it didn't look right as I was figuring out my new kayak.

@MMILLER let me know if you all come up with a DIY fix for this, I'd be interested.

Stand on the leg and pull the rear to bend slightly is what I understand.
