Notice of Race

The Lake Wateree Sailing Club invites you to the Midlands Multihull Regatta on Lake Wateree South Carolina. This regatta is open to all multihulls and will be a two day event held on April 5th and 6th 2014.
The regatta is governed by the RACING RULES OF SAILING, USSA prescriptions of sailing, applicable class rules, and sailing instructions (available at registration). The low-point scoring system (Appendix A of the Racing Rules of Sailing 2013-2016) will apply. One race will constitute a regatta. Handicaps for the PHRF fleets will be assigned at registration.
An entry fee of $40 per boat will be charged and will include two days of racing (weather permitting), a Saturday morning breakfast, and a Saturday evening dinner.

Anticipated Classes
Anticipated classes will be high and low DPN fleets.

1200 club grounds open

1100 Competitor’s Meeting
1100 Registration Closes
1200 First Flag
1900 Dinner
Sunday, April 6
1000 Racing resumes
Awards ASAP after completion of races.

We would like to encourage you to preregister (without payment) by email: send email to Mac McCallum at [email protected], stating the type of boat you will be racing and whether you have crew or not. Please also let Mac know when you anticipate to arrive and whether you will be bringing an RV.

Club Grounds
The club can accommodate campers, but electricity and water hook ups are not available. The club has a launch ramp and restroom facilities. Specific parking instructions will be given as boats and RV’s arrive. Rv’s should be parked at the club’s grounds. Boat trailers will be stored adjacent to the club at the church’s parking area, this area will be used for rigging as well. Boats will be launched and stored from the church’s beach area.

The Lake Wateree Sailing Club is located off of HWY 97 in Camden, SC. The Club’s physical address is 67 Nautical Dr., Camden, SC 29020

•From Columbia
◦Exit 92 North on US-601 towards Camden/Lugoff
◦Travel N on US-601 for approx 2.4 miles
◦Keep right on US601 N for another 1.9 miles
◦Turn left on Jefferson Davis Hwy
◦Travel 3 miles and continue straight on Springdale Dr
◦Travel 3.5 miles and turn left on Hwy 97/Boykin Rd
◦Travel 12.3 miles and turn left on Sailing Club Rd
◦Travel 1.8 miles and turn right on Nautical Drive
◦Travel to end of road

•From Florence
◦Take I-20 West to US-521 Exit 98
◦Travel N on US-521 to Camden
◦Travel 4.4 miles to Hwy 97
◦Turn left on Hwy 97 (just past Food Lion on left)
◦Travel 13.3 miles on Hwy 97
◦Turn left on Sailing Club Rd
◦Travel 1.8 miles and turn right on Nautical Drive
◦Travel to end of road
◦Wateree Sail Club Pavilion on left

Its been announced that Bojangles will be sponsoring breakfast for this event! We already have several Hobies who say they are coming. Lets make it a great first year.

The weather is predicted to be in the 70's!
