| Post subject: | Division 9 Hobie 16 Championship Points Series Standings |
Two of four races of the Hobie Division 9 Championship Points Series have been completed. To this point, we’ve enjoyed tight one-design competition on Hobie 16s at Bare What You Dare and at James Island. No one has been protested for anything or otherwise excluded as some folks had feared. We’ve all had a good time. Rick Harper has proved to be the class of the fleet and has a commanding lead. The folks at the bottom of the list are down there because they’ve missed a race, not due to a lack of skill. The standings so far are: 1. Rick Harper 2. Mark Van Doren 3. Carter Lucas 4. Bill Crouhgwell 5. Nicholas Bostic 6. T.W. Avant 7. Eddy Sikes 8. Hank Goodman 9. Barry Grover 10. Jason Acosta We have two races left in the Series, the Fleet 32 distance races on Labor Day weekend in Virginia Beach and Indian Summer at Lake Waccamaw on October 11-12. The standings are close enough from top to bottom that making it to a race or missing one will have a significant impact. If you want a shot at Division bragging rights, grab a Hobie 16 and come out and join us. If you don’t care about Division standings, come out and have a good time racing with us anyways.
