The America’s Cup” of Disabled Sailing

Come and Get It!!!!!

November 7-11, 2016

Mission Bay Yacht Club

1 RULES
1.1 1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing.
1.2 No national authority prescriptions will apply.
1.3 Appendix C will apply during racing.
1.4 The following racing rules have been modified:
1.4.1 Rule 26 will apply to all starts.

2 ADVERTISING
2.1 Advertising will be Category C.

3 ELIBIBILITY AND ENTRY
3.1 All skippers must have some kind of disability but will not be required to provide proof.
3.2 All skippers will be required to abide by ISAF Trapseat Class Recommendations.
3.3 All skippers must represent a yacht club.
3.4 Registration forms are enclosed.

4 FEES
4.1 See registration forms enclosed. All registration will be through Mission Bay Yacht Club

Boats: Trapseat equipped boats will be provided. Racers may NOT bring their own boat/sails.

5 RACING SERIES & SCHEDULE
5.0 Practice sailing will be Monday November 7th at the Mission Bay Yacht Club.
5.1 Four days of Round-Robin Fleet racing will start on Tuesday, and end on Friday the 11th
5.2 Championship Awards Presentation Dinner Friday November 11th, 2016 after racing at MBYC. Cocktails @ 6:00pm, Prime-Rib Dinner to follow @ 6:30pm.
5.3 No races will be started after 15:30 each day.

6 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
6.1 Sailing instructions will be given at registration.

7 VENUE
7.1 The venue will be at Mission Bay Yacht Club, San Diego CA. USA.

8 COURSES
8.1 Courses will be windward, leeward, windward, Downwind finish.

9 SCORING
9.1 The low scoring team will win the Championship. No throw-out races. The winner takes the Cup home/or it stays in America. The Cup has never left America, YET!!!!!!!!!!!

Monday: Registration 10:00am – 6:30pm. Free sailing practice starting @ 12:00 noon (Welcome Dinner @ 6:30pm; cocktails @ 6:00pm)

Tuesday: Skippers Meeting @ 11:00am; Fleet Racing to follow, First Race: 12:00 noon (two races back to back, per team)

Wednesday: 11:00am Skippers Meeting; First Race: 12:00 noon (two races back to back, per team)

Thursday: 11:00am Skippers Meeting; First Race: 12:00 noon (two races back to back, per team)

Friday: 11:00am Skippers Meeting; First Race: 12:00 noon (two races back to back, per team) Awards Dinner @ 6:30pm.

The Trapseat Americas Cup event has been cancelled due to some unforseen issue with the motel, etc. We are in the process of rescheduling this event for spring or early summer 2017. Will post an update shortly. Have a wonderful Holiday season.
