Post subject:  Using an iPad to add images to a post.

Hi

I use an iPad as my "everyday" email and browsing device. So far I'm not having any luck finding a photo sharing service that is compatible with both the iPad and the forum.

I can upload photos from the iPad to Instagram, Dropbox and Flickr. However I can't add these photos to forum posts. I just get a grey box that says "IMAGE". I think this is due to the URL's being in the wrong format.

I believe that tinypic is compatible with the forum, however I don't think I can upload images from my iPad to the site.

Any suggestions welcome.

Cheers

Brad

I've never had any luck using Google photo URLs. I think Google doesn't want people to use them in that way. They appear willing to store people's photos for their own use but apparently, they're not willing to host embedded hotlinks to them. Their links go to a web page that displays the photo whereas image hotlinks require an ordinary photo format such as a jpg, gif, or png.

My advice is to use imgur.com. You can set up an account there for free and upload all the photos you want. Once uploaded, they make it very easy to copy and use your photo's URLs. They even give you the option of various-size thumbnails of your photos. It all works perfectly and is 100% free. I've used it extensively for years. Give it a try, you'll like it.

Here is your photo posted using imgur:

And here is a smaller medium-sized thumbnail of the same photo using their size selection option:
