It sounds like you could use a Hobie 17, if you can find one. It is a single-hand boat with more buoyancy than a 14. Glad to hear you are having fun.

The first time I ever flew a hull, Hobie Alter was on board, and he asked me to fly a hull. He was sitting on the boat, and I was out on the wire steering. I had sailed all sorts of other boats, but never had much time on Hobie's then. I don't think he ended up thinking that I didn't know what I was doing.
