looking for a promotional video that showed a h 18 sailing over an island and jumping waves in hawaii and even sking on the daggerboard

It is called, "Sharing the Wind". I saw that it was still available from Hobie a while ago, but you may end up having to get a copy from someone. Cool video.

LOL I admit it I had one of the "Jumping" shots painted on the side of my truck. BTW I think it was from the mid to late 70s my truck was a 76 Dodge so it had to be out before that.

GREAT short filn Dean Froom John Driscal must have had a blast. I heard tey totaled 3 boats making it though. IT SHOULD be for down load from the internet. The more of the Hobie lifestyle we can promote the better. 8)
