I just picked up my second Getaway today. The first one blew away in a freak storm last year so I had to get another one. After I got it home from the dealer, I put the wing seats out and noticed that the hole where the pin goes in to lock the seat in place appears drilled out. Here is a picture of it here: http://www.northamericanmotoring.com/ga ... =1&cat=500

(sorry, can't seem to get the picture to show up here)

Would this be drilled out from the dealer, or is this something that could have happened from the factory? As you can see from the picture, the pin will just slip out without any effort. I have no explanation why this would have been drilled out except that it is very difficult to lock the seats in the up position. Who do I need to contact?

Scott.

Seems pretty wierd.

Contact the dealer first and give them an opportunity to correct the problem.

If you don't get results from them, contact Matt Miller at Hobie Cat (he'll probably see this post and respond as well).

Can you insert the pin in the other direction? It is possible that the dealer thought that the pin would not fit in without enlarging the hole a little.

Yes, it does stay in a little better if I turn the pin around, but it is almost as bad as in the picture. Looks like someone inserted the drill from the top so there is the same drilled out portion on top, it's just on the opposite side of the hole. I will call the dealer today to see if there is anything that can be done about it.
