I think hobie should include an option on their boats to have a one piece trampoline. totally iliminate the anooying mainsheet through center lacing thing. This is what I'm talking about

Been done before (early '90s) - and abandoned. Can't get enough tension on the tramp (just look at the wrinkles on the example). The mainsheet tends to go over the rear crossbar, anyway. This doesn't solve that problem. |

I second that, the side crossbars should be slightly bent in from the tension. |

I don't really think the 2 piece tramp needs to be changed but, what if there were laces on all 4 sides of the tramp? I would think that would pull it tight. |

I believe that we actually have a one-piece trampoline that was built specifically for our Hobie about a year ago. After we bought our Hobie, the trampoline was ripped when it went into storage for the winter and it had to be replaced. |

The photo that Janet.w posted is still a 3 piece trampoline. Notice the lace on the port side near the side rail. This doesn't seem to solve any thing. Trampoline tension would not be even and it would be uncomfortable on port tack. I agree with miller, I often use the center lace for foot holds and to store the righting line. |

why don't we do what the getaway does, put a marrow piece of tramp material under the lacing in the middle. |

You can always just add a Mainsheet Overboard Preventer (it's a kit sold through Hobie Dealers - part #2067) Does the same thing as the Getaway tramp...fills that gap with mesh material. |

my hc 16 has an aftermarket tramp that has a diagonal closure It is very very tight and has no place for the main or jib sheet to fall thru The closure is covered by a flap of tramp material with Velcro It is on the third summer and has held up very well The boat is a 1985 and not used for racing Former hobie admiral Gary |
