I have been using one of Slo Sail and Canvas's mesh tramps on my H16 for several years and I am impressed with the quality of their product and customer service. Hopefully, the same can be said about their sails.

Everyone's entitled to their own opinions, but actually, I don't like the first three. I prefer the traditional style of having the panels define the color bands. There are so many possibilities of creating your own custom design with Hobie's offerings, I don't get the complaining. Of the European patterns presented, the Palma pattern looks great in my opinion. You could easily recreate it with the colors in Matt's sample.

This event sail is one of the prettiest I've seen, but we'd need to have some orange in the palette to recreate it. Mango might work pretty well as a substiture and might even be better. It might offer a smoother transition from the yellow to the red stripes. The Mango in my H14 Fantasia sail looks great.

Slo Sails? To me, most aftermarket sails just look like cheap knock offs. I've seen a lot of them, and none match Hobie's quality. Original Hobie sails will keep your boat class legal and protect your resale value.

What about those of us sailing boats other than the H16?? Last time I looked, I could have any color I wanted ... As long as it was white. Yuch. Still the case that a H17 sail can only be purchased from hobie in white?

I've had a custom H20 sail made. If you are an HCA member, you've probably seen Andy Larson's killer all black H17 on the cover of the last Hotline. That all black sail was custom built by Hobie. So, yes, they will make custom H17 sails as well as sails for other Hobies. Not long ago, there was a Hotline article about the last Hobie 18, which featured custom H18 sails.

I love these! And one could reproduce them from the current color pallet...
