So I have used on larger boats a indicator that indicates true wind, apparent wind, and wind speed. I have looked on line for a small battery operated device like this for my getaway. We can always determine apparent wind by our tell tails but true wind is just a guess, it would be a huge advantage to always know what the true wind is so you could find the best heading for sailing close to the wind, or the best heading for a true reach. Has anyone ever seen anything like this?

For a device to calculate true wind it would need to know boat speed and direction along with apparent wind speed and direction. I am thinking that level of sensors are not available for a beach cat.

This would be total overkill for a Getaway.

But if you have $600+ burning a hole in your pocket, you might want to check out a Velocitek.

I have both the Velocitek Sc-1 and Speed Puck. NEITHER gives you a real time readout of true wind, though you may be able to calculate it later from downloading the data to a laptop (I have never bothered). For my sailing the Speed Puck works well (the Sc-1 is a bit overkill, though the VMG is nice). RThe Speed Puck gives you 3 realtime outputs - speed, heading and Max speed and goes for about $340.00.
