Hull

And that's freaking awesome. Id rig a line and dangle from the windward hull.

Would't that be flying two hulls?

Isn't that called 'Trapping Out'?
You'd need quite a few more than two lines though...
How many guys are on that boat? Looks like a few on the center hull are having lunch or coffee or something...

I've never hit the water doing 40mph, but I have in the mid 30's slalom skiing. I'll pass on the dangling idea.

That helmsman must hang onto the wheel for dear life in rough seas. One step back and adios amigo. Looks to be at least a two story fall.

Its pretty amazing that they have the guts to fly a hull in a boat that size. If it capsized, they'd be nothing short of completely screwed!

Two stories? Try five
Capsizing requires a brage with oversized crane to right it. Usually in pieces.

The photo in the beginning of this post that is flying two hulls is the 90' BMW Oracle trimaran

The $16 million dollar, 103' French Groupama trimaran turtled and the following video shows a crane uprighting it after it was towed to port.

The next video shows the 105' Sodebo trimaran pull out of a pitchpole at the last second. What is really impressive is that Thomas Coville sailed this monster solo around the world last year in 61 days.
