I recall some posts from a few years ago where it was mentioned that the latest generation of shroud anchor pins is stronger than prior versions. It said that a change was made to the manufacturing process - the threads are now rolled into the pin rather than machined.
Was the material also changed? Obviously the pins are stainless steel, but I'm wondering if there is a different alloy being used now too. I always assumed these pins (as well as all the other stainless fittings) were alloy 304 or 316 (marine grade stainless). But, there are some higher strength grades of stainless available (usually at the cost of corrosion resistance). Anyone know if the alloy of the pins changed and if so, from what to what?
