So you've come down for some Florida sunshine!

I don't live in Ft. Myers or Sanibel but a little more south in Naples. I've always wanted to sail around Sanibel but I keep my Hobie on the beach so it's about half a days sail just to get it to the nearest boat ramp so I wouldn't be able to come up that way. If you would want to venture south I can see if I can clear a spot up on my schedule for an afternoon. It would be about an hour drive. If you're interested send me an Email to [email protected] and I'll get back to you.

Future reference YOLO on Captiva has one Wave to rent. They are very picky when they will rent it though. We got out one decent day though! Sailing in swells/waves is fun!!!!!!

There are some getaways and waves for rent in Ft Meyers Beach.

I have recently moved down to Naples, Fl from the midwest. I have a '79 Hobie Cat 14 that I unfortunately wasn't able to bring down with me when I moved. Over the past 8 months, I haven't noticed many 14's on the water.... only a couple to tell the truth.
I am wanting to know my options when it comes to launching my Hobie Cat from a trailer in and around Naples. (in preparation for the day a willing friend gets to haul it down for me)

Any places I can drag it onto the beach and out to the water?
I know these boats are made for this; I am excited to get the Hobie down and make the jump from midwest lakes to the florida beach front.

Any and ALL advice would be greatly appreciated!

For those who can drive 40 minutes south of Naples to Marco Island, there is a great rental operation near The Charter Club, ..... towards the south end of the beach. Paul Reisinger runs Paul's Beach Rental, 239.642.1202. He is a Tackle Shack client. He has Getaways, well maintained, good operator, $60 an hour. Well worth it, especially in those winds. It's a bay, so very few swells to deal with.

Enjoy
