20 to 25 is a blast on my Bravo as long as the swells are not too bad. It certainly is more work, and I get an occasional bath, but the water is warm. Anything much over 25 is probably not doable for me unless I reef the sail. Under 15 is just a pleasure cruise.

I just went sailing on a new lake, pretty small. I'm used to sailing on Lake Ontario. The winds were calm this morning, but picked up a bit this afternoon. Being a new lake, and a VERY small lake at that, it was much tougher for me to judge the wind. I had a little difficulty sailing, didn't stay out too long.

Got home... checked the wind... gusts, for the hour plus that I was out, were up to 45 MPH. :o That's a bit much for a Bravo!! There were only two hours with gusts like that, and THAT's when I decide to hit the lake! Figures!

awesome!

Wind out here has been 30-40 for the past five days, but all from the north, so very cold. Got a lot done out at the cottage, however, so when it does warm up I will be able to relax and go sailing. That is the plan, anyway.
