Gotta love a good restoration project, especially with kids involved. As kid I spent about as much time working on old boats as sailing. Hard to say which is more rewarding.

How about some before/after pics????

Gary,

Do you need a boom? Or do you know anyone nearby who does? I have a spare one that I don't need. It was original on my '85 H-16 and has 2 bales for the main sheet (the older 5 to 1 system). Will give it away if it can be used.

still in the tearing down stuff I just keep wanting to call the former owner and ask WTF were you thinking Found steel bolts used for rudder pins and really found steel stuff all over the boat some galvanized wires and much hardware store rope here and there
I guess I did buy the boat for the solid and clean hulls good sails and real fiberglass sail box and the cat trax and galvanized trailer
Spent most of Saturday with my son It was great showing him how all the parts work and how to remove and repair all the parts. A SS pop rivit is some tough stuff as he found out
Well today awaits more of the same The rudders should be finished with new sister screws and new rudder cams the rudder springs plunger and adjustment should be finished New standing rigging should be installed A trip to the local West Marine should allow replacement of the clothesline ropes

+1

I picked one of them up a few weeks ago and am very happy with the results. For $20 and a lifetime warranty, it's pretty tough to beat.

Ordered a new black mesh tramp with diagonal lacing includes a cover for the open cut will post a note on looks and how it performs. note no center cut and no back cut nowhere for a rope of foot to fall out
Had to do the usual of drilling out the rudder cam pins this is kinda tricky. new cams and sister screws are in
New ss rudder pins are on the way
I have a little more wire work to do
A trip to west marine should get me all the ropes i need
A rear traveler track is being removed from the parts boat and will be riveted
My son is helping and learning how the Best sailboat ever maid works and how repairs are done
Work on the sails is also over

new black mesh tramp with diagonal lacing looks great on the boat It is pretty well thought out a velcro cover hides the lacing another plus it only used 30 feet of rope for lacing The new standing rigging was placed and the mast should be up Monday
When a boat is totally torn apart it sure does use a lot of parts
Most of the pins still had the Hobie H on them
