Are there fleets in Puerto Rico and what is the racing like there?

There is indeed and it's the home of some of the best Hobie 16 sailors in North America.

You can find contact info for them on the fleet list on the Hobie Class web site. They also have a facebook site at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Puerto-Ri ... 1901894498. There used to be a web site too but I can't seem to find the URL.

They sail from a sailing club near the San Juan airport and most store their boats there. They only race Hobie 16's but there are a few other types of Hobie boats there as well as a bunch of dinghies.

The sailing at there club is really nice but I know their regatta circuit takes them to other parts of Puerto Rico and to other islands as well.

Hey Hobierich,
If you come down let us know.
Our 16 is at the Local Fleet ( although we don`t race, we do it for fun )
I will introduce you to our very Own Hobie Champ Quique Figueroa.
Races here are around Oct-Nov-Dec, but good ssailing is all year.
