Is there a place where the "build numbers" for each model of hobie by year produced is published... I think it would be both interesting and very informative to be able to compare numbers that were produced and compare them to what is currently being produced... and/or imported into the country.. For example how many 14's were there compared to how many getaways there are getting to be.....How many 18 SX masts there ever were made, and all the various parts options. My classic car parts magazines seem to be able to come up with VERY detailed numbers from thousands of manufacturers and models... It should be of great value to people trying to generate interest in racing programs and sailing fleets, to know who they are trying to serve. |

The records requirement in boat manufacturing is not nearly as stringent as it is in automobile manufacturing. Hobie Cat does not publish production numbers. It's a subject that's been covered before. |
