Post subject: | Need help identifying these sails |
Hi All, in cleaning out the garage attic at the cottage, I found a sail that was left behind by the previous owner. It surprised me to find that they were in like new condition. They have about a 23.5' luff and a 6' 8" foot. There is an insignia (class designator?) on the sail that looks like the Alpha symbol with a small 1 just left of it, and a small 5 just right of it. I was thinking Glasstron Alpha 15, but the mast on that was way too short. Any ideas? https://plus.google.com/?gpsrc=ogpy0&tab=wX&gpsrc=ogpy0#photos/instantupload/5809688081071717682 |

Just heard back from Skip Elliott, the sails maker. He says they are from a mid 70's AlphaCat 15. Less than 100 made in South California. I wonder how one made it to Michigan. It has a luff rope, I wonder if I can use it boomless on my H16? |
