I was working at a summer camp up in NY and there I found a H-14 in the weeds. After talking the camp into allowing me to restore it, I looked in the boat storage area and found just about evry part for the boat sitting in a pile of sunfish (Yuck) parts.
I can now say I know what happens when hulls are aon backwards, for they were on the incorrect sides when I started the project.
Long story short,
After about 1 1/2 months My friend Nadav and I were able to sail Our new (pre 1974 i think) Hobie 14.

So witha sail number of 1869 can anybody tell me what yr the boat was made?

There were no markings on the Transoms or on the hull or deck underneath the pylons.???

I thought it was pretty cool for someone 23 to have a boat made before the Hobie 24 manual was made. (all the sail numberds in the book are higher than 1869)
Thankyou in advance everyone
Andre

It's probably a '68 or a '69 boat. The hull numbers should be stamped into the aluminum of the forward pylons on the outside.

The sailing and assembly manual that came with my '71/'72 H-14 has photos of boats with sail #'s below 100. It also has Hobie Alter and Sandy Banks as the "models" in the assembly and sailing sections.

Have a great time with your new toy!
