Happened to be in Mt. Dora, Florida today on a business trip. What a neat place, with several sail-suitable lakes.

Has anyone sailed there? Any tips? I am thinking it may be nice for an overnight get-away and sailing weekend!

Try this link for some info: http://www.lescfl.com/

They are located on Lake Eustis. Lake Dora does not have a lot of "beach" access. Mainly ramps; nice big lake though.

The launching at Mt. Dora is not the easiest for a beach cat but it can be done. The Mt. Dora Yacht Club sponsors their annual regatta that is held on the first or second weekend of April each year.

The folks at the Lake Eustis Sailing Club are a pretty friendly bunch - I happen to be one of them. You would be more than welcome to stop by for a visit. Bring your boat. The club has a one-design racing emphasis with MC Scows, Flying Scotts, and Wayfarers being the dominant classes. But us multihull sailors are growing in numbers.

Please join us for the annual Wildcat Regatta held at LESC the first weekend of October. A variety of catamarans attend so there will be both one-design with F-18, F-16, A-Cat, and Hobie 16 represented. And a good number of boats that don't fit into the above classes will sail Portsmouth. Great fun, great food, great sailing, and outstanding comraderie is what the weekend is all about.
